New Info On Fisker’s Ocean SUV Courtesy Of CEO

Henrik Fisker took to Twitter to disclose more info on the highly-anticipated Ocean SUV.
- The Ocean SUV will deliver better performance than believed via a 545+ horsepower version.
- Fisker’s Ocean can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 2.9 seconds.
- Expect to hear more about the Ocean in November of this year.
Fisker’s Ocean has turned many heads following its initial announcement, and now we have more details to share with you, courtesy of CEO Henrik Fisker and his Twitter account.
We now know that the Ocean will perform better than expected via a 545+ horsepower version. This is rather surprising, as last we heard, the Ocean had a 302 horsepower limit. A new dual-motor drivetrain is responsible for this shift in extra power.
Claims that the Ocean can accelerate from 0 to 60mph in around 2.9 seconds doesn’t seem so imaginary now that we know a stronger SUV exists.
Entry-level versions of the Ocean feature a single motor powertrain, capable of hitting the 250-mile mark on a single charge. Fisker claims that a solar-panelled roof will add an additional 1,000 miles of range over time.
In terms of other details, from previous reports, we know that the Fisker Ocean will also sport an 80 kWh lithium-ion battery pack and a radar interface to support autonomous driving.
Moreover, thanks to Twitter, we also know that the Ocean SUV will feature a silicon carbide inverter fit with a unique clutch. In other words, both range and performance are getting a boost.
According to Fisker, we’ll learn more about Ocean in November. We’ll keep you updated if we hear anything new between now and then.
But yeah, the Ocean continues to be one of the most anticipated EVs to, one day, hit the market.
Ocean is shaping up to be quite the electric SUV. Will you be buying one once it’s released? According to reports, deliveries are expected to start towards the end of 2022.
