Lincoln Confirms First All-Electric Vehicle Will Arrive In 2022

Lincoln looks set to electrify its entire lineup by 2030 as part of a greater plan.

  • The first all-electric vehicle from Lincoln will be revealed next year.
  • Half of Lincoln’s global sales will be electric by 2025.
  • Future vehicles will gain a hands-free advanced driver assistance feature.

Another established automaker has taken the electric pledge. Lincoln, a luxury brand under Ford, has announced plans to make all vehicles either hybrid or all-electric by 2030.

The first all-electric Lincoln will make its grand debut next year. Furthermore, Lincoln expects half of its global sales will come via zero-emission vehicles by 2025.

EVs made by Lincoln will use the new flexible platform that Ford announced back in May — when they announced their $30 billion business plan.

We’ve been teased by an all-electric vehicle from Lincoln before. They were reportedly co-developing an EV alongside Rivian, a startup specialising in green SUVs.

However, that project was later cancelled. Ford actually has a 10% stake in Rivian and is said to be working on an undisclosed project/projects.

As soon as we know what these projects are, we’ll let you know.

We knew EVs were coming from Lincoln after they revealed the Zephyr concept in April.

The Zephyr gives us a pretty good idea of what future electric vehicles from the brand could look like.

A major selling point is what Lincoln refers to as “Constellation,” used to describe a widescreen located on the dashboard.

It gets better. Designers/engineers at Lincoln are “experimenting with digital scenting techniques, exploring how warm, pleasant scents positively affect the mood and overall well-being of the passengers.”

We can’t say we’ve heard any manufacturer talk about smelling tech before, but there’s a first for everything!
