Jeep has been slower than other established vehicle brands in taking the electric pledge. Still, electrification was inevitable, and even teased with plug-in hybrid versions of its Wrangler and Grand Cherokee SUVs.

The iconic American adventure brand just revealed its first pure battery-electric vehicle, and it’s an SUV. A vehicle known for incredible utility and functionality in and around urban locations.

It was revealed during Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategic plan presentation. Carlos Tavares, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Stellantis revealed the images of the EV himself. Stills that show the vehicle sporting a very slick black and yellow coat.

In terms of release, this EV will launch in 2023. Followed by multiple ‘zero-emission’ vehicles, alongside multiple plug-in hybrid variants as per the recent announcement that all versions of its vehicles will head in a greener direction by 2025.

Jeep will play a marquee role in parent companies Stellantis’ plans. At the event, Stellantis also teased an electric adaptation of the Ram 1500 pickup truck.

You can find info on that EV in the Tweet below:

Both vehicles (the Jeep EV and Ram 1500) will likely run on Stellantis’ STLA platform. A platform that will be used by multiple upcoming EVs in the lineup.

It’s a sign of things to come from Jeep. Electric things that are sure to help them evolve in line with the current market. What do you make of the Jeep electric SUV images shown? Leave a comment below.
