BMW Reveals Its CE 04, An Unbelievable New Electric Scooter
The BMW CE 04 is as innovative in design as it is speedy and could lead a new generation of e-scooters.
Behold, BMW is reimagining urban travel for scooter-heads via its BMW CE 04 — a two-wheeler we’ve been talking about since its initial announcement last year.
We’re glad the German automaker has chosen to pursue the BMW CE 04 for obvious reasons. After all, any vehicle that challenges the status quo is an attention-grabber. It’s the reason why Tesla’s Cybertruck divides so many opinions.
The outlined BMW CE 04 is the first in a new line of electric mobility from BMW Motorrad, and it shows.
The BMW CE 04 is unlike any other electric scooter seen before — literally in this case.

Panels on this e-scooter look like they’re floating. Multiple storage compartments are there for you to find. And who could forget the flurry of bright colours it flaunts so effortlessly.
Let’s talk spec.
According to BMW, its CE 04 includes a peak-rated 31 kW frame-mounted electric motor — an ideal motor to have for urban acceleration. The CE 04 can go from 0-31mph in 2.6 seconds. In other words: it’s zippy.
Top speed is set at 120 km/h (75mph), which is pretty impressive for a city specialist-type vehicle like this.
Know that a reduced power model will be available too. This model has the same top speed but features a weaker motor (32 kW).
What about electric range?
The battery of the higher-spec model (8.9 kWh) should take you up to 81 miles on each charge. If you go with the reduced power version of the CE 04, expect its range to cap out at the 62 miles mark.
“The BMW CE 04 is our new electric star for the city. It combines an e-drive with emotion and motorcycling fun. The latest technology and the best battery cells, which also provide power in the BMW iX. Just like the CE 04, all future new BMW Motorrad models for urban mobility will be pure electric.”

Charge-wise, riders can top up the BMW CE 04 from any standard home wall outlet, or public charger, giving you many options to play with.
Moreover, BMW says you can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in only 45 minutes.
The New BMW CE 04 is part of what the brand calls: “the silent revolution: A new chapter in electrically powered urban two-wheel mobility.”
After what we’ve seen, the success of the CE 04 should be all but guaranteed.
Expect to see this e-scooter on the market in 2022 with a price of around $16,000 (£11,700). What do you think? Will you be purchasing the BMW CE 04?
